These green wedding invitations set the perfect tone for Jeannine and Henry’s elegant celebration at the historic Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. The rich green letterpress paired with gleaming gold foil stamping on thick cotton paper creates a look that is both luxurious and timeless.
Thoughtful details elevate the suite even further. A vellum folder adds an airy, romantic layer, while a custom wax seal and a stunning envelope liner bring a sense of polish and intention. Ideal for a black-tie affair, this suite combines refined style with the kind of quality and craftsmanship that leaves a lasting impression on guests.
The Cosmos Club isn’t your typical DC wedding venue- its old-fashioned charm makes every event there feel refined and exclusive. Jeannine and Henry wanted their guests to feel that from the moment they opened the invitation. The main invitation card features a hand-drawn sketch of the Cosmos Club, beautifully highlighted in gold foil, capturing the elegance and history of the venue. The envelope liner is a unique touch – a reproduction of a John Singer Sargent painting, a nod to the original artwork featured inside the Cosmos Club itself. I especially love how the colors in the painting harmonize with the green and gold palette used throughout the suite.
The invitation suite didn’t stop there! Details for the welcome reception at Fitzgerald’s were included on a sophisticated insert card, printed in gold foil on rich hunter green paper. This pop of color added another layer of luxury, tying into the overall theme while setting the stage for the weekend’s festivities.
To complete the look, we used forest green envelopes, matching the letterpress on the invitation and adding a cohesive touch. Everything was enclosed in a delicate vellum folder, topped with a gold wax seal for an added bit of formality and elegance.
Jeannine and Henry used the same venue illustration on custom matchbox favors, and I can think of a better keepsake for such a sophisticated event!
